What Sendra does
- Turns a Figma frame with auto layout into email-safe HTML.
- Finds your email: click any layer, and Sendra selects the frame that holds the email.
- Previews the email at desktop and phone widths, at any width, in light and dark mode.
- Adapts the email for phones, with controls for stacking, spacing, text size and widths. When a row stacks, Fill layers stretch, and Hug and Fixed layers keep their width.
- Lets you set a layer's dark mode colors, and keep the email light in the Gmail app.
- Adds links to a layer or to a single word, alt text to images, and preview text and a language (27 languages) to the email.
- Shows a layer on desktop and phones, on one of them only, or hides it.
- Passes merge tags through exactly as typed, in text, links and image addresses.
- Links Google Fonts automatically, and uses fallbacks or font file links for other fonts.
- Exports two ways: Copy HTML, with images linked from the web, or an export package, a zip with the HTML file and an images folder.
- Hosts your images: 100 on the free plan, unlimited on Pro and Team. PNG, JPEG or GIF, up to 5 MB each. Animated GIFs keep their animation.
- Sends test emails to up to five addresses, with a subject and a note.
How you use it
- Install Sendra from Figma Community and run it from the Plugins menu. It opens in a panel beside your canvas.
- Your email needs to be a frame with auto layout. If it isn't, Sendra asks you to add it (Shift + A in Figma).
- Sendra doesn't send campaigns. You copy the HTML or download the package, and import it into your email platform. Sendra sends test emails only.
Email clients
Sendra's output is tested in Gmail, Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, Apple Mail, Yahoo Mail and AOL, on desktop and phones. That includes the classic Outlook app for Windows, which displays email with Microsoft Word.
Email platforms
The export is standard HTML, so it works in any email platform that accepts custom HTML. Merge tags pass through exactly as typed, including those of Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Brevo, ActiveCampaign, Customer.io, Braze, Kit, MailerLite, Mailjet, Sender, Omnisend, EmailOctopus, Zoho Campaigns and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
The export goes into your platform as a custom HTML template. To change the design, edit it in Figma and export again. The help center has step-by-step guides for ActiveCampaign, Brevo, HubSpot, Kit, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, MailerLite, Sender and Supabase, and a guide to merge tags with an example for each platform.
